Greetings!

Marvellous meeting you!

My name is Lily Akhavan Nissen.

I am a curious researcher and UX/UI Designer, with a background in Industrial Design. I’m a designer and strategist on a mission to help create better lives for people and new opportunities for companies.

I strive to design connected products and services to create value for organizations, and I believe that nothing is more important than having knowledge about user behavior during the design process.

I’m passionate about cultures and empathetic with people. I take a broader view of user issues and activities that go beyond the discrete product or service to redefine and reimagine the user journey. This approach allows me to design a holistic system that fits within a larger context to create a positive change.

I received my BS in Industrial Design from Iran University of Science and Technology in 2013 and moved to Denmark in 2014 to follow my dreams as a passionate designer.

Spending a few years in the industry proved to me that I need more than just designing the product features to enjoy the process of creation. During working on my final BS project and my collaboration with Design Department at Tehran Municipality, I got familiar with service design, experience design and, Human-Centered design concepts. That’s when I decided to continue my studies in a more diverse area of design.

I got my MA in Industrial Design from Design School Kolding in Denmark. My thesis project was ComposTech, a completely new way of managing food waste disposal in industrial countries with a social, economic and environmental impact. ComposTech has received a lot of attention for its well-planned creative Product, Service and, UX design to solve the global food waste issue.

Most of my projects surface social, economic, cultural and environmental matters through design and research. What inspires me most is identifying and studying different stakeholders in a given problem and understanding their values in order to develop and adapt the best technical, infrastructural, software or hardware solutions for them.
